A fix for the bug that prevented players from gaining the "Artful Dodger" achievement when playing as a client in an Online Session was included, as well. There were also fixes for some of the minor annoyances in the game. A fix was released for the issue that prevented the minimap from expanding when clicked. The most recent "Escapists 2" update also included various performance improvements for Windows PC, Mac OSX, and Linux. These can be used in both single-player and multiplayer games. Other players can download the custom prisons. Players who want to share their creations can do so by uploading their custom prisons to the Steam Workshop. Rooms, furniture, and prison cells can be added with a simple drag and drop. These prisons can have layouts that range from simple to labyrinthine, depending on the players' preferences. The map editor allows for the creation of prisons spanning up to two floors. Creating and editing prisons is intuitive, with a drag-and-drop interface that is commonly seen on map editors and construction simulations in most video games. Now that it is out, it gives players the ability to create their prisons. The map editor is a fan-requested feature. Game developers Team17 and Mouldy Toof Studios has just released an update to the indie prison simulator "Escapists 2." Among a bunch of performance tweaks and fixes, the update also comes with a free map editor. If a guard sees that the vent cover is missing or damaged, you are very likely to be sent to solitary (in Escapists 2 this will raise the Security Level by 3 stars). One should use caution and enter vents through discreet areas. The vents are also a useful place to store contraband since guards will not search the vents normally. In vents, you can sometimes find Prisoner Stashes of important items left by escapees ( The Escapists only). If your destination room does not contain a desk or a ladder, remember to take another Stepladder/Makeshift Ladder so you can get back into the vents. Once you are in the vent system, you can unscrew another Vent Cover and get to your desired destination. If the guards see what you've done, they will send you to solitary (in The Escapists 2 it will raise the Security Level by 3 stars). Make sure to replace the Vent Cover you tampered with. When you're done, press the interact key to go into the vent system. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the Vent Cover (or use cutters to cut the vent). In The Escapists 2, there are also Vent Covers in the floor which you can use as an entrance. In order to get in the vents, find a vent entrance above you and get up on a desk or a Stepladder (TE1 only) / Makeshift Ladder (TE2 only). ![]() In The Escapists 2, some vents have Fences in them, so make sure you bring cutters if needed. Sometimes, vents will lead you up floors, thus, allowing you to access the roof via the vents. Many escape routes require you to use the vent system (i.e., K.A.P.O.W. Transporting yourself through the vents is simple since it requires minimal equipment (only one Screwdriver for the least), and it can repeatedly be done in a jiffy.
